Start the day off with a yummy brunch!  Check out the Brunch Guide for Father’s Day!

Or maybe BBQ is on the menu for the day?  Which one will it be?  Oklahoma Joe’s?  Gates?  Arthur Bryants?  Jack’s Stack?  Perhaps BB’s Lawnside Blues & BBQ and listen to Lee McBee and the Confessors!

Grab a frisbee and head to the park!  Go fishing!  Go on a hike!  Enjoy a movie!

Old Shawnee Days are just a couple of days away!  Here is what you need to know:

When:  June 5th – June 8th at Old Shawnee Town in Shawnee, KS

1st thing to know … WRISTBAND NIGHT is Thursday, June 5th.  This is when you can buy a wristband for $25 ($15 for 6 and under) and then ride all of the carnival rides you want to!!!  Rides, bounce houses, rock wall … It is so worth it!  Wristband night starts at 5pm and ends at 10pm Thursday night!

2nd thing to know … The Old Shawnee Days PARADE is Saturday, June 7th!!!  I love parades ~ it is such a great way to support the community!  The kids love it because they come home with a bag full of candy! This year the theme is “Building Shawnee One Block at a Time!”  The parade starts at 10am.  The parade route starts at Shawnee Mission Parkway and Nieman heads north to Johnson Drive then west on Johnson Drive to Old Shawnee Town (right before Quivira).  Arrive early to get your parade spot and avoid the traffic!!!

3rd thing to know … Lots of things for the kiddos to do!  Hula hoop contest, whipped pie bubble blowing contest, water balloon toss, sack races, three legged races,  frog & turtle races,  relay races.  (See the schedule events below for all of the times!)

4th thing to know … MUSIC!  Do you like John Mellencamp, U2, and Creedence Clearwater Revival?  No, they won’t be there – but their music will!  Great tribute bands lined up for Friday night.  Saturday night’s performance will be wrapped up with a performance by The Guess Who!

I could go on and on … but I won’t!  Here is the complete list of all scheduled activities for Old Shawnee Days!!!  Have fun!!!  Old Shawnee Days Events
