American Institute of Architects Kansas City – Learn how architects were involved in the design of Kauffman Center and participate in a design arts drawing project.
The GRAMMY Museum – Learn about GRAMMY Museum programs here in KC and get hands on to create your own instrument.
Kansas City Kite Club – Kite displays and kite making activity by the Kansas City Kite Club.
Kansas City Symphony’s Instrument Petting Zoo: Discover orchestral instruments through the Symphony’s Instrument Petting Zoo where kids can touch and play instruments under the guidance of Symphony staff and volunteers. Open from 12:00 – 2:00 pm
Prop-a-palooza: Lyric Opera of Kansas City’s Prop Master, Debbie Morgan, will give an insider’s look at how props are made! Learn how to make your own prop during presentations at 12:30, 1:45, 3:00 and 4:15 p.m.
Perform and Play with Lyric Opera of Kansas City: Learn to be an opera star with interactive theater games, vocal exercises and more! Classes at 12:30, 1:30, 2:30 and 3:30 p.m.
Mattie Rhodes Center: Join Mattie Rhodes staff and volunteers to create Mexican Tissue Paper Flowers and learn about other cultural arts activities.
The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art: Participate in a visual arts activity in celebration of the 25th anniversary of the Donald J. Hall Sculpture Park.

Have you been to a family outing at the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art? Visit the Art+Family=FUN event that goes on every weekend. This month they are celebrating the signs of spring and the screens in the Japanese gallery. Also today, preschoolers can meet in the Noguchi Court at 1:30 to enjoy the Story Time for Preschoolers at the Nelson.
Tonight take in the sounds of the OP Civic Band at the Downtown Overland Park Music in the Park. Music starts at 7:00pm at the Sante Fe Commons Park.
One last day to visit Old Shawnee Days! Today’s events include: baking contest, frog & turtle races, performance by Jim Cosgrove, Stonelion Puppet Theater, hula hoop contest, balloon toss, Mad Science exhibits, and the list goes on and on! Here is a complete list of events! Festivities start at start at 11:30am and wrap up at 6:00pm.
One last day to visit Thomas and his Thrill of the Ride Tour at the Midland Railway. Sir Topham Hatt will be there to make sure it is a magical event for your child!
Lots of family fun at the Strawberry Festival at Shawnee Mission Health – Prairie Star! Fun events include: mini-hospital, giant slides, moonwalk, games, visit with the Lenexa Police & Ambulance, and a chance to win prizes! Last day for the St. Dionysios Greek Festival! Lots of food, dancing and fun! The festival is from11:00am to 8:00pm today!
Take a trip to the National World War 1 Museum at Liberty Memorial and watch history come to life! A Day in the Life: Trench Warfare exhibit is a living history event where volunteers will be on site to share stories of the Great War era.
Watch the Royals take on the Yankees! Game starts at 1:10pm. Enjoy Family FunDay Sunday festivities before the game! Let the kids run the bases after the game! First 10,000 fans get a Norichika Aoki poster! And don’t forget … it’s Father/Daughter day at the K!
Head out to Community Ballpark and watch the T-Bones vs. Laredo Lemurs – game starts at 5:05pm. Show up early to get player autographs or stay after the game to let the kids run the bases! Load up your canine friend and enjoy the 5th Annual Bark in the Park Night.
